Part-time – 4 days per week

£40,000 - £55,000 FTE DOE

Edison Young People, a leading provider of children’s residential care and schooling across the East and West Midlands, is expanding its therapy team. Our Young Person’s Multidisciplinary Assessment and Therapy Services (YPMATS) is committed to supporting children and young people within our residential homes to achieve positive emotional and mental health outcomes.

We are looking for a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, Integrative Therapist, or Play Therapist to join our growing service. This is a part-time role (4 days per week), ideally suited to someone based in or near Lincoln, Leicester, Nottingham, Peterborough, or surrounding areas, with regular travel to our nearby homes.

About the Role

You will work directly with children and adolescents living in residential care, many of whom have experienced trauma, attachment disruption, or early adversity. The role includes:

  • Providing one-to-one therapy tailored to each young person’s developmental stage and therapeutic needs
  • Carrying out therapeutic assessments and contributing to care and placement planning
  • Attending and contributing to TAC (Team Around the Child) meetings
  • Supporting Q&A visits to the homes
  • Working flexibly and creatively adapting your approach when supporting young people with co-existing conditions such as OCD, neurodiversity, or food hoarding behaviours
  • Liaising with residential staff and the wider team to support a joined-up, trauma-informed approach to care
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records

Essential Criteria

  • Level 6+ qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy or Play Therapy
  • Registered with ACP, UKCP, BACP or NCPS (with appropriate child competency and a minimum of 450 clinical hours)
  • DDP Level 1 & 2 is desirable
  • Experience working with Looked After Children is preferred
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team

You will be part of a supportive and innovative therapeutic service, reporting to the Clinical Lead, with access to regular clinical supervision and reflective practice.
